Free schema markup generator

Check what structured data a page already has and what it’s missing, then build the JSON-LD for your business, services, FAQs, articles and products in a few clicks.

Check a page first to see what it’s missing, or go straight to the generator.

Build your schema

Choose a type, fill in what applies, and copy the code. Empty fields are left out.

Paste it into the page’s <head> (Webflow: Page settings → Custom code), then test it in Google’s Rich Results Test.

Schema is one part of being understood by AI.

Our free AI visibility checker shows how often AI recommends you, and what’s holding you back.

What is schema markup?

Schema markup is structured data, usually JSON-LD in a page’s code, that states facts about the page in a form machines read without guessing: who the business is, where it is, what a service costs, the questions and answers on an FAQ. Search engines use it for rich results, and AI assistants use it to understand and describe you accurately.

Every site should have Organization (or LocalBusiness) markup on its home page, with its name, logo, contact details and profiles. Then add the types that fit each page: Service on service pages, FAQPage where there are FAQs, Article on blog posts, Product on product pages and BreadcrumbList across the site.

The types most sites need

  • Organization or LocalBusiness
  • Service
  • FAQPage
  • Article
  • Product
  • BreadcrumbList

Schema markup, answered. What people ask about structured data, JSON-LD and adding it to a site.

The format Google recommends for structured data: a block of JSON inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag, kept separate from the page’s visible HTML, so it’s easy to add and maintain.

In the page’s <head>, or anywhere in the body. In Webflow, use Page settings → Custom code → Inside <head> tag; for site-wide Organization markup, use Site settings → Custom code. In WordPress, an SEO plugin or a header-scripts plugin will do it.

It doesn’t rank a page by itself, but it makes rich results possible (FAQs, reviews, breadcrumbs) and gives search engines and AI assistants the facts about your business without guesswork. Our AEO assessment counts it as part of a site’s technical readiness for AI.

Start with Organization, or LocalBusiness if you serve customers in a place, on the home page. Add Service to each service page, FAQPage wherever you answer questions, Article to blog posts, Product to products and BreadcrumbList across the site.

Paste your page address into Google’s Rich Results Test, or use the checker on this page to see the structured data a page serves and which recommended properties are missing.

No. Structured data has to describe what’s visible on the page. Marking up content people can’t see goes against Google’s guidelines and can lose you rich results.
