Free llms.txt generator

Enter your website and get a ready-to-use llms.txt: a short summary of your business and your key pages, written for AI tools. No email needed.

Free, no sign-up. Takes about 20 seconds.

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is a proposed standard (llmstxt.org): a short markdown file at the root of a website, at yoursite.com/llms.txt, that tells AI tools what the site is and which pages matter most. Think of it as a guided tour for language models, alongside robots.txt for crawlers and the sitemap for search engines.

It’s new, and AI assistants don’t all read it yet. It’s quick to add and does no harm, and it gives any tool that does read it a clean summary of your business. It won’t, on its own, get you recommended by AI. For that, the things that count are pages that answer buyers’ questions and other sites that link to you, which is what our free AEO assessment checks.

How it works.

  1. Enter your website

Just the address. No email needed.

  2. We read it

Your home page, your sitemap and up to 30 pages, in about 20 seconds.

  3. Get your llms.txt

A summary of your business and your key pages, grouped and described, in the format llmstxt.org sets out.

  4. Add it to your site

Upload it so it loads at yoursite.com/llms.txt. Check it reads right first, and edit anything we got wrong.

llms.txt, answered. What people ask about llms.txt and adding it to a website.

A markdown file at the root of a website (yoursite.com/llms.txt) that gives AI tools a short summary of the site and a list of its most useful pages, each with a one-line description. It was proposed at llmstxt.org in 2024.

Not much on its own, yet. Google has said it doesn’t use it, and AI assistants don’t all read it. It’s a quick, harmless addition, but the things most closely tied to being recommended by AI are pages that answer buyers’ questions clearly and links from other sites about your industry.

Save the file as llms.txt and upload it to your site’s root, so it loads at yoursite.com/llms.txt. On WordPress, use your host’s file manager or an SEO plugin that supports it. On Webflow and other hosted builders, look for an llms.txt option in your SEO settings; if there isn’t one, host the file elsewhere and redirect /llms.txt to it.

No. robots.txt tells crawlers what they may and may not visit. llms.txt doesn’t allow or block anything: it’s a summary and a reading list, written for language models.

Yes, read it through. It’s written from your pages, so it should be close, but you know your business best: tighten the summary, rename sections, and drop any page you’d rather not point AI towards.

Yes, with no sign-up. You can generate up to 10 files a day.
